Someone making $80,000 a year would have to work 345 years to get the same thing Jimmy Garoppolo does in an hour
If you’ve ever wondered how much a quarterback or quarterback earns, the All Home Connections company conducted analyses to determine how much these professional athletes received per hour and minute played during the 2018 season, according to KHOU.
The research showed that Aaron Rodgers has the highest annual salary of any starting quarterback in the NFL, earning $66.9 million annually.
That means Rodgers earned $8,762,304 per hour; that’s $146 per minute of playing time.
This would be much more than most people earn in a year.
On the other hand, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has the lowest annual salary, at $630,000 a year. That’s $65,620 an hour. Not bad!
Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans makes $123,704 per hour of playing time every year. That’s $2,061 a minute.
On the other hand, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had an annual salary of $41.9 million, which per hour of play would be about $27.6 million.
That means that a person who earns $80,000 a year would have to work 345 years to earn the same amount as this athlete does in an hour.
